Tax Breaks

Tax Break February 2010

Tax avoidance or smart tax planning?  ISA's and the 50% Tax rate starting in April 2010.

As you are probably aware the government is introducing a new 50% top rate of income tax on 6 April 2010.  This new rate will affect anyone earning more than £150,000 in the 2010/2011 tax year.  In fact, if you earn more than £100,000 per year then your personal allowances will either be reduced or removed altogether.

New tax codes could hit you in the pocket.

Do you check your tax code every year?  Do you fully understand the allowances and calculations?  Or do you simply glance at it and assume that, as it has come from HMRC, that it must be correct?  Unfortunately, that is not always the case.

Professional under scrutiny, who will be next?

Health professionals are being forced to ensure that their tax house is in order. HM Revenue and Customs has all health professionals in their sights.  Yes, you’re tax affairs are in the spotlight and you need to take action now.
