Increase in Mileage Allowance

As of the 6th April 2011 the Approved Mileage Allowance Payments (AMAP) will increase from 40p to 45p per mile for the first 10,000 miles. After the 10,000 mile threshold the allowance will remain at 25p per mile.

AMAP is the amount reimbursed to workers for using their own car for business mileage.

The 40p per mile for business mileage was introduced in 2002 however there have been no increases made to this figure since it was introduced.
